Ortho Molecular Products' Thyrotain is a comprehensive formulation designed to support healthy thyroid function. It contains a blend of key nutrients and botanicals that work together to promote the synthesis of thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). The formulation contains L-tyrosine and iodine, which are the two primary components of the thyroid hormones, as well as zinc, copper, selenium, vitamin A, and the botanical guggulipid. These ingredients activate enzymes that enhance the conversion of T4 into the active thyroid hormone T3, and also help to improve cellular sensitivity to thyroid hormones. Additionally, Turmeric is included in the formulation, along with the antioxidants vitamin C, vitamin E, and N-acetyl cysteine (NAC).
